How to look and feel fucking fabulous when you feel your life falling apart.
You’re probably reading this in bed. Your eyes stinging, you’ve eaten too much junk food and you’ve finally stopped stalking your ex’s social media. Now you’ve decided to google how to ‘get over it’. Good. That’s the hard stage done with. Now you need to start thinking about yourself. Now that you are single, you have all the time in the world to be a bit more selfish and focus on you. Investing in yourself is the best possible way to feeling good again. When you feel good, you look good. When you are going through a break-up it’s standard practice that you just want to sit around, feeling sorry for yourself. Somehow revelling in sadness becomes a comfort. But it’s not, it just a way to carry on those feelings of hurt. Here are my top tips for getting over that broken heart, making way for a better you.
You need to get out of bed. You need to shower, get dressed and leave the house. You need to be doing something. Don’t sit around crying or looking through social media. Don’t watch sad films. Move around, occupy your mind. Do something that can give you even a slight distraction from the pain.
WRITE IT OUT
All those negative feelings. Pour them out onto the paper. Pour your heart out. The hurt, the anger, the happiness. Every emotion you are feeling. Write a letter to your ex, a letter to yourself. Then get rid of the letters. Throw the bad feelings in the bin, and walk away from them.
During a break-up it can be o easy to fall into one of two traps. Eating too much or not eating at all. You might search for comfort in all the sugary, fatty foods that you think make you feel better. In actual fact food that contains too much sugar or fat can contribute to higher levels of stress, not to mention the impact it has on the way you look. Some of you may not eat at all. You might be thinking about dieting and how to get that ‘revenge’ body for the next time you see your ex but once again, this will only affect your mind and body in negative ways. You’ll become tired, run down. It’s time to take care of your body. Good superfoods for stress include: green leafy veggies, blueberries, pistachios and avocado.
It’s all about a healthy diet and paying attention to what you put in your body.
Exercise is one of the best ways to deal with a break- up. Get those endorphins pumping through your body with some cardio. No one ever regrets working out! It boosts your mood instantly and will soon help you forget all about your heartbreak. Even just getting out of the house and focusing on something completely different will help. Not only will you feel great, you will look it too.

This may be simple advice but it can make a huge difference. Dealing with a break up takes time and there’s no quick fix but it’s important to spend this time focusing on yourself. Your health and wellbeing should always be number one. Once you feel good, you start to look great too.
